history
[April
2002 - May 2005]
MTV
Networks, Information Systems & Technology,
Technical Support Representative...
...I preferred to call myself "Miracle
Worker". When the staff at MTV, Nickelodeon
and VH1 had problems with their computers,
I was the first one they called to alleviate
their stress so they can get on with their
work day. Without me, they couldn't have brought
us the touching shows we all love. Shows such
as "Pimp My Ride", "VH1's Behind
the Music", and the always unforgettable
"Brandy: Special Delivery"
[October
2001 - March 2002]
Warner
Music Group, Internet/Online/New Media, Intern
and later Pee-On (or as they called me: Executive
Assistant to the VP of New Media)
The latter lasted an excruciatingly painful
six weeks, while I assisted a wretched, helpless,
witch of a woman who's monthly expense account
always surpassed my salary, and who made my
number one priority ordering her lunch accurately,
and on time. My fondest memory was on week
2 when she almost experienced heart failure
because I didn't know to order her chicken
fajita wrap without mayo. She flung it into
the trash, and I snuck in later and ate it
because I couldn't afford lunch with my measly
$10.60/hour.
[February
2000 - August 2000 & June 2001 - September
2001]
Werner Woods, Graphics
Department, Graphic Designer
I designed their catalog, posters, postcards,
and Web Site (which they've redesigned since
then, so don't bother going there cuz that's
not my work).
UPDATE: The company has been bought out! (it's
the new designer's fault)
[January
2001 - May 2001]
U.S. House of Representatives,
Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez,
Intern
Stop
looking so surprised. No, I didn't meet Bill
Clinton, but I did run into Newt Gingrich
on the DC metro (he's short), and I also saw
Ted Kennedy (he's old).
[October
2000 - January 2001]
Vis-Com,
Inc., Graphics Department,
Print/Web Graphic Designer
I learned a lot about the 4-color print process
with Vis-Com -- an advertising agency with
clients such as Borghese, Ronsonol, and Zebra
Pen. With them, I actually could afford to
eat, so during my lunch hour, I would always
go to the Quick Chek down the street for a
veggie sub, cream with a little bit of coffee,
one Mon Cheri piece of candy, and a pack of
cotton candy bubble gum to last me the rest
of the day. (Damn, I'm craving a Quick Chek
sub right now, and ain't that some shit that
they're only in New Jersey.)
[April
2000 - July 2000]
Focus
Multimedia, Graphics Department, Web
Designer
I'd like to give a shout out to all my peeps
still making beautiful graphic art with Joe
Villa at Focus. Oh, and I'd also like to say:
Go Lakers!

:
: : fun
facts about me
I have
no qualms bad-mouthing Vice Presidents of
major record labels; I can give a full-body
deep tissue massage; I've completed six marathons;
I've visited 42 of the 50 United States, and
I enjoy doing community service in Compton
because I'd rather spend my weekends picking
up trash with juvenile delinquents than to
pay the city of Malibu $235 for a speeding
ticket plus a $250 late fee.
:
: : special
skills
In addition
to being fluent in Spanish, I can endure the
boredom of working.
